"Ah-Ha" moments of inspiration

Ok, this weekend has been one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments in my life which makes me re-evaluate everything and make massive change. I just finished reading ‘the 4 hour work week’, the #1 NY times best seller (http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/). It has made a dramatic impact on me. It is one of those times when you re-evaluate everything and make massive change for the better.

I took the kids down to the park today and left the book on the bench. I just drove down there to see if it was still there in the dark, but someone took it. I would like to think that someone who needed it more than I. Anyway, I can’t wait for amazon to ship the book, so I’m going to have to go down to Barnes and Noble monday to pick it back up, and one for my partner.

This is a must-read for anyone who is driven in life. It will punch you in the gut, and make you re-evaluate all of your assumptions. His writing style is hillarious. My wife always makes fun of me because I never laugh at most sitcom humor, but I laugh for what she calls ‘stupid humor’ like the Simpsons, The Naked Gun movie, etc. This book had me laughing out loud several times. Tim has such a way of intelligently expressing an idea with hillarious metaphore that will get you in stitches. I am serious, if you have not read this book, do it!

The Road Less Traveled

At long last, I have decided to enter the world of bloggers. I have always believed in the importance of keeping a personal journal, but it is such a pain in the ass to remember and write down. Since I am on my computer almost 24/7, I figured this made the most sense to chronicle my life experiences.

I believe everyone’s life has a divine purpose, and everyone has a story to tell. We often think of our lives as not that interesting, when if we were able to look at ourselves from an outside perspective, that is not the case. Everyone has a story to tell, and I want to tell mine, and to tell the story of other interesting people I meet.

What I intend to do with this blog over my lifetime is to write about my experiences, and the experiences of other intersting people I meet. I will also post my radio interviews that I do with folks that I find to be interesting.

I am a big fan of Charlie Rose, and I have always wanted to interview interesting people like he does. In this day and age, you can start your own radio program for almost nothing, and that is what I did. I dont have any audience yet, but I’ll grow that too.

Basically, this blog is for me to do write and post whatever the hell interests me. It will be a mix of business, life, social, travel, etc. I’ll start off by telling my story, and then add a lot of interviews with other interesting folks, etc.

So, on that note, I’ll start with a poem from Robert Frost. I believe that your quality of life is in direct proportion to the path you choose to take in this life. I have chosen to take the road less traveled, which has made all the difference! Enjoy

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and Iā€”
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
